Artist Statement
Colorado’s paintings contain a spectrum of styles from abstract to contemporary landscapes. The soothing color combinations, feathered brushstrokes, and transcendently beautiful places in his paintings create a sense of peace and serenity for the mind. These places have personal meaning to Colorado, from the beaches of his roots in Mexico and Costa Rica to the open fields of the Midwest, where he lives today. He finds happiness knowing the special places he has integrated into his work only start with him and begin to extend and evolve as shared human experiences in someone else's home. This connection to other people and other stories is what fuels his creative process.
