Loess Hills
Oil on canvas, unframed.
10” X 30” X 7/8”
I painted this after my artist residency at Waubonsie State Park, Hamburg, Iowa. Sunset Ridge is one of the most hiked trails on the Loess Hills in the park. This is the overlook view from the top of the ridge where you face west towards the Missouri River flood plain. The sun gently touches the hills, casting a warm golden glow during the enchanting golden hour. This exquisite play of light and shadow creates a captivating allure, drawing the eyes towards the sprawling fields in the distance, adding depth and character to this stunning landscape painting.
